Food distribution program is a major component of VFBF’s operations. As above, we are currently assisting 210 or 15 per cent of the target needy households. The average cost of food items per household is $25 per month.

The need for materials and supplies ranks high within the operational aspect of the ministry program’s annual cost. These include; blankets, towels, toilet papers, baby stuff, utensils, soap, Vaseline, detergent, etc.

The sick, the poor, disabled, and the elderly, etc. within the target populations are at risk. There is no welfare, health, Medicaid, or Medicare programs supported by the Kenyan government.

Medical equipment such as walking canes, wheel chairs, clutches, hip and back support kits, first aid kits, etc. are hard to own and are expensive to users without health coverage.

This program assists low-income families and individuals that have no health, welfare, or Medicare coverage or benefits. Grief (loss of loved ones) is common among these groups and funeral costs for burying the departed family members in towns or villages are exorbitant.

Incidentally, the elderly and physically challenged persons in the rural areas of Kenyan villages live in chanties or deplorable dilapidated shelters. The majority of these seniors have no retirement or health benefits

The scholarship fund is for the support of viable students aiming for higher education in high schools, vocational colleges, or universities. The minimum cost of maintaining a high school student in a boarding school for a year is roughly $950.

The health screening program involves camping in a village of 20-30 families once-a-week and screening the participants for blood pressure (BP) issues, general health challenges, dietary needs, medical side effects, or overused and defective medical apparatus.

Notably, teenage girls commence their menstrual periods around age 13 or earlier and continue for years. In the villages, a disposable tablet costs roughly $2. Kids from low-income families often have no money for such hygienic needs.

VFBF has budgeted $2,950 to allow furtherance of scripture distribution, discipleship, and related materials. VFBF hands out a Bible, hymnal and related materials to individuals or a household.

VFBF believes that economic devastations are not uniform worldwide. Thus, economics challenge levels in the far east differ from those in Africa. Our goal is to rehabilitate the target communities by encouraging and restoring people as they participate in the struggle to alleviate themselves from chains of poverty.
